Spring break updates:
Monday: blasted the tub and front clip. discovered a lot more rust than I thought it had.
Tuesday: set the tub on the frame and bolted 4.3 and TH350 together w/out TC or flexplate for mock up and engine mount fab. Flat skidplate idea out the door b/c of engine height and hood clearance issues.

Craig, if you're going to be a writer, you need to get familiar with a CAMERA as well...

2000 4.3 Vortec  I fabbed the mounts (i.e. - copied Novak's engine mounts) and used EB radius arm bushings for mock-up. The bushings I will use had not been shipped yet. |

note how far the oil pan hangs down. I'm looking for a shorter pan: Craig, did your 4.3 come out of a 4wd or 2wd? I believe the 2wd one had a shallower oil pan with a different pick up in it. |
