Ok, so did the NP241 come behind a TH350 in full size GM trucks? If so, that would be great. Also if they did come behind TH350s, I'm on the lookout for a stock adapter and NP241C transfer case.
I know the NP208 was used behind the TH350 and TH400, but I just don't know enough about them to know if the NP241 did. Somebody school me.

On a side line of this. I would like to have a TH350 to NP208 adapter if you know where one is at.

I have a th350 to 203 adapter that may could be redrilled if it would be the right thickness.

Gm didn't start using the 241 until 88. These trucks did not have a computer controlled transmission until 93 or 94 .I don't know when they started the 4L60 and 4L80 stuff. But I believe these were similar to the th 350 but with an overdrive. Maybe that will help.

Thanks for the replies: Jason I'll ask around. Brad, I'll do some research to see if that will work. Bryan, ditto there. I'll do some research on Novak's site to see if the earlier 700R4 has the same tailhousing pattern as the Th350.

Here's a link to Novak's adapter for any Jeep NP case to a TH350: novak-adapt.com/catalog/kit_131.htm It would be sweet to find a NP241OR (RockTrac) with the 4:1 gear for cheap...then again 2.72 isn't a bad low range if a GM 241 will bolt up. That would be much cheaper. So, back to reading more...

does the 241 you found not come with an adapter to a 700r4? shouldn't that be the same as a th350 bolt pattern?

yeah i think so Brad. it seems like the output shaft stickout lengths are different on the 700r4 and Th350. Five to 6 inches on the 700r4 and 3/4" on the TH350...I think.

hmm... well I have an adapter that came off a 700r4 with the chevy 231 I have and it looks like it will work perfect on my th350... granted, I haven't bolted it up yet... but it looks right... I will let you know.

i'm kicking this around for a buggy. my vortec 4.3, TH350, NP241 with the axles in the EB. the 241 from an IFS truck will have the driver side drop i need with the Ford 60...
i looked up the power numbers and the 4.3 is rated for nearly 50 more HP than my 302 from the factory....that's smoking!

I bet the last year the 302 was out (with EFI) it was more HP than the 4.3. There is no replacement for displacement... Did you sell your M38? -RC
