Being the youngster that I am I would have loved to have gone out to ridge lakes with you guys, but dad said no mud riding till we replace the clutch; and I may not be the wisest guy yet but I think dad knows what he's talking about. I promise you guys, when the jeep is completely ready, clutch and all we'll go out there and you won't even be able to see that liner by the time I'm through out there ;D

A Centerforce II clutch kit is on order. It should be here soon.
We took the CJ to Tri Starr Muffler shop in Starkville yesterday. We agreed on a price ($154.99) to replace the entire exhaust system - all the way from the exhaust manifold out the back - and I gave them the go ahead. When we went to pick it up I took a look underneath and discovered they had not replaced the head pipe, even though the invoice clearly shows they charged me $29.95 for it. They refused to do anything about it - the owner of the shop said that the pipe was fine so he didn't replace it. He said if I wanted it replaced he would do it for another 50 bucks. They would not even apply the $29.95 I had already paid towards it.
I have had them do several exhaust systems for me in the past, but they just lost me as a future customer.

I've been burned by a few places in Starkville. The only place I like to go to get anything done on the Jeep is Gateway Tire. I think those guys are pretty honest. They've been good to me anyway. Similar experience: I had a tire patched last year at R&M tire in Starkville. When they put the Jeep on the lift, the lift arms crushed the cat when it pushed up on the Jeep. I heard the crush when they lifted it, but they said "ahhh it's OK-- happens all the time." Well I took the Jeep back within the week because the cat rattled. They didn't take credit for it. That made me pretty sad. Why can't people just be honest? Oh well. I bought a new one on Ebay for $30 and put in a flowmaster while I was down there welding it up. Sounds better now anyway. -RC

Well that's two places to mark off my list to ever use. I must say that Express Oil Change has always been great. I use them for Cory's Accord, I hate having to jack up the car to work on it. Replaced an 02 sensor for me after it failed in the first 3000 miles.

r&m is horrible, very expensive too... express oil change would not change my oil once b/c i have a golf-ball-sized dent in my oil pan, not saying they are a bad place though, they just didnt want any liability

The new Centerforce II clutch is in and working great. We also replaced both rear u-joints. Centerforce recommends that we go easy on the clutch for 500 miles.

Ok Clint, you've been telling us we needed new tires. The Procomp X-terrains and Rock Crawler wheels came in today. John didn't waste any time in getting them put on. Here is a comparison of the old tires and the new ones: Kyle was over watching, but he wasn't much help. Here John is working on the front right - by himself... And here is John working on the front left - alone... And here is the finished product:

I know Clint and I both do. We just need to finish the lift on his XJ this week and we'll be trying it out this weekend. Anyone got a small propane or gas torch used for soldering? One of the lower control arm bushings is seized on the bold. We're thinking we can burn the rubber out to relieve the bolt and get it out. -RC

Where did you get the liner product from and did you have to use a special spray gun to apply it?

The product is called Liner X-treeme. You apply it with an undercoater gun.
