the short side is 23.5 so I guess it would move the axle back one inch, but you would still have to relocate the rear hangers because of the overall length. I think the only lift you might gain may be that you could run a much longer shackle because of the longer spring and still have a decent shackle angle... hey, I have a pair of 7" shackles... Talking about running them on the front, the guy I got them from tried them on the front of his YJ and took them off because they went flat... But he is running a 302 and has a lot of heavy tube work.

I did some experimenting. I think that about a 4" shackle will be about right and I am going to move the rear hangers up as much as I can without running into clearance issues with the shackle. Will post pics when I get it mocked up.

I figure with a little negative arch I could keep my truck down to about 4-4.5 inches in lift and ride really nice. I want to keep the rear spring under...... the front would WAY outflex the rear though....

Yeah, Craig.. I heard you fell in with the CMSJA group at HS. They were talking about how you were hammering on your Bronco.

Well, progress has slowed down lately due to not ever being home. I worked a little on it yesterday. I pulled a leaf out of the xj packs and made some frame end hangers that will help to lower my ride height (and also gain a couple more inches of stretch). I have it about where I want it now, I am going to try to get the brackets all tacked up tonight and maybe get it all welded up this weekend. After I get it sitting on it's own again, I will change out the back half of my transfer case and work on getting my driveshaft and a crossmember for the traction bar. It will start coming together now I hope. I have all the parts now except for the driveshaft and flange for the tcase end. All I need is time.

Well, after getting the springs back under with the AAL gone, it sits A LOT more like it should. Here are some pics: This is just showing droop on the passenger side, there is hardly any compression on the driver's rear. I stood on the bumper and it went on down, but couldn't get a pic of it. that's a 48" hilift.

man it looks good! great progress and good pics. what kind of shock mount are you going to run to take advantage of all that travel? you may have said earlier in the thread but i can't remember. i'm sure it will articulate much better when rocks are pushing up on that driver side. i picked up an extra CV shaft at the junkyard yesterday if you need one. give me a call

I got the SYE installed this afternoon and got my brake line extended. I put it in 4WD and the YJ moved on its own today for the first time in about 3 weeks. man, these springs ride good. I mounted my shocks back up to my stock mount for now. I also got the flange ordered from Oreilly that will adapt a cv shaft to the flange that is now on my tcase. I think I might work on building my traction bar tomorrow. I am hoping that my muffler isn't going to have to be moved. Is there a particular reason that most people put the traction bar on the passenger side?
