I am definitely going to have to relocate the rear body mounts and shorten the rear cross member to clear the tires. I also picked up the back half of a 231 with a SYE installed, so I will be installing that and maybe doing a belly up at the same time.... at least taking out the dang tc drop

This is what I plan to do for the traction bar: I am going to try to build a link like btf uses on some of their projects. There will be a piece of U shaped steel and the link will attach towards the top with a polyurethane bushing. Then there will be a heim joint through the bottom of the U which will be attached by some tabs I have made out of 3/8 flat bar. the tabs will be welded on top of a crossmember that will be made out of 3" channel. There will be misalignment bushings on each side of the heim. I dont think that this will limit flex much at all and should be very strong since the majority of the force will be directed straight up which will place the heim in tension rather than shear. The axle side will use poly bushings as well. I will have this welded as close to the pumpkin as I can get it which should limit the amount of twisting on the frame end as much as possible when flexing. A picture is worth a 1000 words...

Just an update... I have the axle out of it and have the xj springs hung in the front hangers, probably going to work on fabbing up the rear mounts tonight. I will try to snap some pics when I get the axle hung. It looks like I will be able to use the shackles I already have. This thing really has some droop when it is just hanging there and I don't even have the weight of the axle on it yet. The springs just in their relaxed state have way more droop than I had before... must be the length of the springs.

You will *love* those springs.... My xj would flex like crazy... I think they are actually more capable than yj's.... Do you have a pair of sagged factory springs sitting around? I am thinking of soa front with sua rear here sometime soon.... not trying to hijack your thread.

I got the axle hung last night and the rear hangers tacked in place. I expected the springs to be flatter...maybe they will settle some and could be that I am parked kinda downhill... dunno. I maxed out my 48 inch highlift on the center of the rear bumper just to get the tires on.... I was just kidding about reusing my shackles... I need some shorter ones, much shorter...gotta get my ride height back down... But, hey, at least it is sitting on it's own again.

looking good.... Throw some weight in the back and wheel it a couple of times... The xj springs will sag... I am supprised you got a stock set that isn't sagged. It almost seems like they come from the factory sitting ass low.

Yeah, I am sure they will sag some. But, I still need some shorter shackles to get the angle I want. I stood on the back bumper and bounced it to try to get them to settle some. Man, these things are soft. It felt like a trampoline.

Yeah... You won't be able to tow much with it but it will ride *NICE* you should look at mooving your front spring mounts back on the frame and putting xj springs in the front. I have been thinking pretty hard about that....
btw... Do they have the offset to one side with the same centerpin to eye length as the stockers? I guess that I am asking could you run them flipped around for stock wheel base?
Also. Do you think they would provide any lift on a, spring under, stock truck?

I thought about waggy springs... I just really don't want to get into the steering issues with a spring over.
