Well lately it has slowed to a crawl, or pretty much a standstill. We lack just a few hours getting the chassis rolling. Got to finish welding link arm brackets on the front, make a panhard bar, and mount the front coils. If I can get that done hopefully, I can move it to my garage and work on it a little at a time between baby bottles and honey-dos. I will be lucky to get it finished this summer. Maybe I will have it ready by a fall ride. I pretty much have all the main components, I just need the time to do it.

I finally got about 3 hours to work on the buggy after i put everyone to bed. It is now 2:30 am Sunday morning, but this is the only time that is exclusively mine. Mama and new baby are doing fine. I installed the firewall and started fabbing up the transmission hump on the inside. I am welding all of this with a new Lincoln 175 MIG that I just bought for myself for Father's day. I am really enjoying it. I am constructing the transmission cover to bolt on with the top plates. You never know when you may need access to the transfer case and trans from the top. Besides, the rear of the motor is sticking about 4 inches to the inside of the firewall. Access to the transmission bolts from the top is necessary. The transmission dipstick will have to come up through the dash.

This thing looks great, wish I was in the area I would like to help out when needed. I would like to see it on the trail someday, as I need some people to ride with, on the big stuff.

My plans are to make a ride toward the end of the summer. Considering my progress recently, I think that is a conceiveable goal.

Here is an updated pic on the firewall. Just about got the hump done. For the top panels I drilled and tapped threads so they could be removed if it ever becomes necessary for service.

Got some updated pics. I haven't had a lot of time to work lately, but I am trying to work about an hour or so each night. I used expanded metal in the whole floor except for the transmission hump and firewall. Here is what I have left to do: dash and gagues driveshafts radiator mount hoses mounting propane tank brake pedal assembly and lines gas pedal wiring hydraulic steering finish welding exhaust Speaking of exhaust, I was thinking about running straight pipes. I noticed with propane that it seemed as if the motor runned a little quiter. Do guys think that will be too obnoxious on the trail? One reason that I want to do it is because of the floor. With the expanded metal floor I am afraid heat is going to be a problem for the passengers especially around where a muffler would be. What is your advice?
