Thanks for the advice on running the Bronco skins. That is kinda what I was thinking as well, but I wanted to hear from the masses.
Craig, that Bronco frame is on the trailer at Jason's house and I was thinking about going this afternoon and pulling it home. I won't be able to get away from school till about 4:45. If I don't hear from you today I will just pull it to my house. The body mounts got cut off, back when we thought we were going to tube it out, and the original suspension mounts have long since gone. Other than that it is a pretty straight frame.

No problem Craig - If you want to get it this weekend I will be out of town, but help yourself. It will be in my yard somewhere.

Jason,
I know that you have been trying to get me all day via e-mail. However, I can recieve e-mails, but evidentally I cannot send them out. Our e-mail system is royally messed up right now.
About working tonight, I am pretty sure that I will make it, but it might be 6:00 before I get there. My students are in the heat of battle getting ready for state competitions next week and I promised them I would stay after school for more prep time.
I haven't been able to get any brackets cut yet, but maybe there is something we can do.

Got a few pics of the progress. I apologize for not posting for so long with an update. Since I last posted we have built the transmission crossmember, rear suspension is complete and have started on the front. Many thanks to all that have helped and expecially Jason for patience at JWP Customs. Jason now has his Jeep pulled in the shop as he is converting to coil springs after his breakage in Hot Springs. Jason you may want to fill us in on the details. Here is a shot of the rear suspension. It is a double triangulated 4 link. Another shot of Jason's. Suspension shot from the rear. Here is the 4 link mount that I made with the PlasmaCam machine. I am going to run a parallel 4 link in the front with a panhard bar. Another shot of the front axle. I had to throw this pic in there. I am hauling all of the remains of the old Orange beast to the scrap metal yard today. I just wanted to take a moment of silence to remember. It looks pretty sad doesn't it?

Here are a few updated pics as of 4/15/05. It seems like work is going a little slower lately, but progress is still being made. Last night Jason and I worked a little while on the front suspension and here is where it stands: We welded the link arm brackets in place. The driver side is done as well even though the picture does not show it. The other bracket was cooling when I took the pic.

So Rob, are you running the Bronco skins or not? The front looks totally different than what I expected. Still looks really good though. Do you think you'll still be working on it 2 weeks from now? For the most part, I will be done with school on the 25th. Id really like to come get my hands covered in grease and grime instead of pencil lead and ink for a change. IM READY FOR SUMMER!

The front end is designed with the skins in mind. The fenders will bolt to the tubes going from the fender to the firewall and the grill will fit behind the winch. At the moment I am still pretty sure that I will use them. However, if it looks better without them after I get it running then out the window they will go.
I a sure I will be working on it a month from now. At the moment it is touch and go when I can work. With the baby a little more than a month away. I will try to post when I will be working next for a solid day. Right now I just catch an hour or 2 here and there.
