This certainly seems to be a very hectic time to the year. If I do get to go it will be in the neighborhood of Mar. 14-16. I have learned that I have several thousand pine trees at my disposal. I may be planting one tree at a time for most of the spring break. That will be a wonderful change from my hectic life right now. Just worrying about where to put the next tree will be all that I think about for 4-5 days.  |

I am actually working on trying to finish 3 differant projects for people so I can get my plans together.I know I won't be finished with one major one in time but I want to be far enough ahead that I don't feel bad about taking some time off. On the other hand anyone want to go to Gardendale for the weekend in a couple of weeks?? That sounds like a good idea. Haven't been there yet. You talking about the 8th-9th? Don't have a trailer at the moment so if I could share trailer space and gas with someone that'd be nice. The CJ should be ready by then although probably without paint yet. -jim |

I'd be up for something in the 14-16 dates but, just for the weekend. some of the CAFB guys are going to morris mountain that weekend.

Morris Mountain usually has a good ride on St. Patrick's Day Weekend, with giveaways, crawling course competition, and trail riding. I went last year with WRF and we gave away some sliders. Actually, one of the guys from CAFB won the sliders as a matter of fact. It's a good place to ride, around a 4 hour drive from starkville.

Stay at the Best-Western and park there. Unload and drive 1 mile north on I65 to the Gardendale exit. There's another way of getting there w/out driving on the 1 mile on the highway, but I can't remember it.

I'm a retard...instead of turning to go to the Best Western, stay straight on Fieldstown Rd. until it intersects Newfound Rd. Make a RIGHT on Newfound Rd. The trail turnoff isn't marked, and it's on the left side of the road nearly all the way at the other end of Newfound Rd. If you reach Mt. Olive Rd., you've gone too far.

I had scheduled for some trees to be planted the forst of this week. It looks like it is actually going to happen later in the week so Coal Creek is going to be out for us. |

I ended uip planting a 11,000 pine trees and cutting all of my firewood for next winter. I felt pretty good not leaving a 2 mile radius for 4 days. Let me know when you can go somewhere. I still have the itch. |
