I am having problems with my wife's 2000 TJ. The NV3550 trans won't stay in fifth gear. It will also pop out of first every now and then. Is there anyone local that can work on manual transmissions? Is my best bet to get a new trans and put it in?

You might check with holman's in columbus. they did my t4 for me a good while back, and they did a good job.

Yeah, she rode around in Rob's earlier in the summer and had to have one. I've been wanting to buy one for years so it was not hard to get me on board. She bought a 2000 TJ sport with a 4.0 and 5 speed. Seems like we have bought a lemon though. Which may be for the best because as things wear out, I will replace them with more trail worthy items. The NV3550 is something I want to keep though, so I need to either fix this one or replace it. |
