the first thing I would do is replace the fuel filter and see if it helps. Plugs and plug wires wouldn't hurt either if you have never changed them.

I am inclined to think fuel filter or a fuel pump. If it is fuel injected then the fuel pump has to maintain much higher pressures than with a carb. Is there a "Check Engine" light coming on?

Did this problem start right after you replaced the tps switch? If so it could still be cutting out on you. I have bought new parts that have been faulty. If you still have the old one might could switch it out and see if the symptoms are the same.
On a Chevy throttle body unit you can check a TPS with a multimeter, but not sure about Jeep

Mine did this when I cut my muffler off, I think it had to do something with the O2 sensor not being connected anymore, but I dont know if yours is like mine...

I may be a little late on this, i havent been on the site in a while, my zj had the excat same problem as yours a while ago. I ended up replacing the fuel pump to solve the problem. About 270 from napa, and the installation is pretty easy, maybe 2 hours or so. That would be my suggestion.

I've got the quadra-drive I think on my ZJ and it's been nothing but problems. I bought it not working anyway, so I guess I can't complain too bad, but I still think Jeep messed up on the 4x4 systems they put in the grands. I'm in the process now of replacing the full-time transfer case for a part-time one from a Cherokee. Since it will be in 2wd when I'm on the road, I expect better gas mileage and less feedback in the steering wheel on turns. So far I've got $175 or so in the 231 I'm putting in the Jeep, so it's not too expensive to swap. I would be the noise you're hearing from the front end is from the differential itself. Don't they have some sort of hydraulic differential in the quadra-tracs? I wonder if you pull off that differential cover if it would show anything. Do you frequent any other forums? Try going to www.nagca.com/nagca.htm and searching their forums for your problem. I know yours is not unique. Surely someone else has had the problem and knows how to fix it. Hope this helps you out. -RC

Contact Corey (99rockkrawler). He had a popping noise coming from the front end of his zj and I am not sure what he ever figured out.
