It's getting hot around here, and the other day after running some errands, I noticed the radiator was leaking after I parked. Engine coolant temp was at 230F or so. I originally thought it was coming out of the cap and the overflow hose had fallen off. I popped the hood and realized the leak was coming from somewhere in the radiator behind the fan cowl just above the drain petthingy at the bottom. When the jeep sits there cold it never leaks anywhere. This leak is only when the coolant temp is about 220F or so. Is it possible for the radiator to have a hole in it that only leaks coolant at boiling point? In my experience if the radiator has a hole in it, it will leak ALL the time, not just when the motor's hot. Tomorrow I'll take the fan and the cowl off to get a better look at that leak in the radiator. Anyone have any experiences like this? -RC

Its a pressure leak. If its the cheap plastic one that jeep puts in most wranglers, the best way to fix it is to buy a new one! Ive been there and done that! Theres a place in Tupelo, I think its name is Modines, it use to be tupelo air cool. I bought one from them that is steal for $129. Your motor temp is not something you want to play with as hot as it is outside. Hope this helps. i can get that # for you if need.
