After I flooded everything in my Jeep last Monday I have been cleaning everything out. I decided to put an off road kit in my Edelbrock carb while I was cleaning. It is great. Before the kit, if I went over rough terrian or up a steep incline engine would stall out. Now it doesn't skip a beat. I would recommend this $12 mod to anyone running an Edelbrock carb!

I have a four barrel Edelbrock carb on my jeep's 4.2. I was wondering where I can get one of those off road kits for it. I would really like to get one.

You can get it at almost any auto parts store, or order it from summit or Jegs.

If you are going to tear into an Edelbrock to install this needle kit and want to make it even better, the best thing to do is pull the top off and install something to block the passage at the back of the carb that join to two fuel bowls together. What this will do is help to keep from stalling out during hill climbs and off camber conditions. Also lower your float level as low as you can stand it.
I used rolled up tin foil to block the passage and it worked real well.

I got the kit, but it says I need a manual for my carb to disassemble and reassemble. I don't have one though. If you got any tips, let me know. The contents of the kit are spring loaded needles and seats, I think.

I did mine without a manual. If you have ever been in a carb before it is simple. You will basically take the top off of the carb and replace the needles and seats. The Edelbrock carb is simple compared to a Holly. You should be able to download a manual, but if you can not find one I can dig mine up for you. Just let me know.

I got the off-road carb kit and istalled the needles and seats with no problems. I had to order a new gasket, though. I will get it Monday afternoon and then I can put the top of the carb back on. I can't wait to see how it works off-road.

All put together and running good. It's ready for the trails.
