Ok, here is a simple question that will really mark my technical capabilities lol, is it ok to drive around with the Hubs always dialed in and the tranny not in 4wd?

Only thing I could think of would be quicker wear on moving parts that don't usually move all the time (diff. gears/u-joints, front xcase output shaft, etc.) but all that would probably be negligible unless it was for a really long time. Though more moving parts=worse mileage, and a locked front diff makes for a less enjoyable driving experience on the highway. But other than "wear", it shouldn't break anything I don't think.

Hmm...yah I can see how that might be less enjoyable......I'm trying to figure out how to get King Ranch F-150 wheels to work, I'm afraid that my hubs will a problem......I'll have to do some measuring and see if any part of the hub will fit through the center hole ...

A stock TJ turns all the time - it has 109,000 miles with what seems to be the stock components. Even though I wish mine didn't turn full time for the above reasons.
I am curious - if you can't fit the hub through the wheel then what is the plan?

Well I know the adapter is going to add from 1.75"-4'" per adapter (my choice). I know I don't want to go as wide as 4" because I don't want to stress the bolts too much, but there is a chance that the adapter will add enough width that the hub will still fit through some, it's the original hub, so it's diameter is smaller at the top......if that doesn't work, then I'll try and look at some 8 lug wheels from the F-250 edition, and if all else fails, then I'll just try and find some that look similar.......unless there's a way to machine out that inner diameter without taking away from strength.....any thoughts?

I messed up and bought a set of turbine wheels off of an old dodge for the CJ-5 I had before. They had a smaller center bore that would fit over the rear but not the locking hubs. I didn't realize this untill I had the tires mounted because I trial fitted them on the rear.
The meat of this rambleing is that luckily my dad is a machinist in the delta. I took two of the tires/rims over and we had to machine out the centers to clear the hubs. It was a PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!! Getting the tire and all clamped down and centered on a massive drill press was crazy difficult.
The short of it. I recommend having wheels that fit in the first place.

Yah I figured it couldn't be that easy....well hopefully I'll get lucky and they'll fit after the adapter.

Here is a picture of a King Ranch front wheel:It looks like that hole is plenty big enough for a CJ hub.

Ah...I think they use the same wheel. Nice find. I was looking for good pics of one today. The adapters I found are custom made, I'll have to email and make sure they can make the adapter to 8 lug, but I bet they can. Thanks
