okay, need some help figuring this one out. in 1st and 2nd gear, if i try to get up into the higher rpms, the engine starts cutting out and then coming back in, almost like a limiter, but im only in the 3 to 4000 range... anyone know why its doing this, i just got a new muffler put on, still have the factory cat, the o2 sensor is hooked up and the check engine light is not on. you think its the muffler? its a dynomax for a wrangler, i dont see how that could be it...

Chip didn't you say that your exhaust manifold had a crack in it? You know I just fixed mine and I had noticed that my engine was hesitating at high RPM's in first and second. After I fixed the manifold it quit. The only thing I could figure was that fresh air was entering the pipe and running across the O2 sensor. I figured my service engine soon light should come on but it never did.
Just a thought.

i dont know where its leaking now, ive already welded it up once not too long ago, i dont feel like taking it off and doing it all over again... but i may have to
oh, and my speedometer is going crazy now too, never consistent and going way past 120. i think i may need to tighten the t-case yoke nut and see if that fixes it, b/c i have the electronic speedo sensor that came with the jb conversions shorty kit.

Just talked to another guy that I work with that has a TJ and I knew that he had replaced the manifold. He said that his was also hesitating until he replaced the manifold. That might have been an original problem with yours and compounded when you put on the free flowing mufffler.
Still just a hunch.

But, I don't think Chip had a muffler before, right Chip? Doesn't get any more free flowing than that.
