I went for a little wheeling episode the other night. Not too far had both my boys with me so I new I would not tax my jeep too much .Called on Chip(jeepinman) to come and join us.Well any way climbing one of the hills I got a little off of the regular ruts and got it turned at an angle.I called on it a little and bounced it a couple of times.I have treated it much harder at Greyrock.Well now I have a serious vibration. It starts around 25-30 mph and does not quit.I replaced both u joints in the rear and the one in the front d-shaft.I had the tires rotated and balanced. Its is still vibrating like crazy.HELP please.

I assume you checked to see if there is anything bent? control arms, tierod, etc... I would check the front bearings and maybe the axle u-joints

All are tight w/no bends.Any one know where I can get a good front driveshaft.I have been told that it is most likely in the cv joint end of my shaft.

It is a tj with a cv type front driveshaft. Its a 2000 model.I looked in some of my books and they don't even have a replacement for my year.I assume its stock I am the second owner.

I rebuilt my CV joint before. It's actually called a double cardan joint, but most people refer to it as a CV. All you have to do is buy the 2 u-joints and that middle piece that fits them together. I believe NAPA even sells a kit to do it. It's a Spicer component. I believe all together it would be no more than $60. FYI--- You can drive without that front shaft on. I pull my front one all the time- I think it drives WAY better on the highway without it on. Mine might just be out of balance though... Hope this helps. -RC PS- I bet you find out it's something real simple like a broken bolt holding the u-joint to the front yoke. When the u-joint gets just a little off-center it really will vibrate like crazy.

Well I rebuilt my cv joint and guess what???No good .I still have the same vibration at the same speeds.I checked everything on it to see if there is any thing loose or super worn and everything looks ok.so I'm at a loss here.looks like a trip to the front end shop is coming up soon.
