I had a 75 CJ5 as my first Jeep - bought it for $2500 and made it look like new money and sold it on E-bay for $5500. It has 36" TSL Swampers, 2" spring lift, 3" body lift, and 360 AMC V8.
Saying that it wanders all over the road is an understatement. It was nerve racking to drive over 50 MPH. I even installed sway bars, replaced bushings and everything I could think of to help the wandering. The 75 Cj5 has narrower springs in the rear as the 76 and up have wider leafs. My brother had a 76 with wider springs and did not have as much trouble as I.
The 75 model is not going to have as many aftermarket parts as the 76 and up models for some reason. I ran into that problem all the time. The windshield is straight up rather than angled back.
After having a CJ5 myself and now owning a CJ7, I would recommend holding out for the 7 if you are going to do a lot of highway running. The CJ5 is awesome for tooling around on a farm or something like that. If you ever want to turn it into a trail rig you will probably not be satisfied with the wheel base and limited options of drivetrains due to severe driveshaft angles.
Just my 2 cents. All of what I just said could be overridden by a good deal that you might be getting. It does sound like it has a lot of good stuff, but I would have a hard time forking out 3 grand for one after I know what I know now.

my 73 does not wonder that bad but, i just have a 4" lift and 33's. i also have problems finding parts for it and when i do they are more expensive not to mention how hard it is to get in and out of..this is my biggest grief and when i sell it i will definitly get a 7 and newer.

I don't know, it would be hard for me to pay that much for a Jeep that old unless it was in MINT condition. You can get a late model CJ for that amount of money. But then again I haven't seen it. I would consider taking some of that body lift out by the way. I can imagine 9" of lift on a CJ5 with an 81" wheelbase might cause it to wander a bit on the road and make it feel a little tippy. You could replace the shackles with maybe some 1" and help a lot of the "loose" feel. If you are looking for something as a trail rig I would definitely hold out for something with a better platform for building a good rig unless you want to get into stretching the wheelbase and all that good stuff. But, if you are looking for something just to cruise around in with the top down, go for it.

If it is only $3000, i'd buy it. I looks like the guy has a lot of money in it. It sure looks good, too. I look in the auto trader often and ones like that go for a lot more money. It might need a shakle reverse kit. to help with the wandering. I also saw some contraption on e-bay that was supposed to help the wandering.

Still thinking of it..... hes 20 years old and built it up, but does not have time to use it, and too tall to daily drive. He said it had tons of new parts, with paperwork. I'll have around $3000-$4000 invested if I trade ??
