I never had to deal with axle U-joints but replaced a driveshaft U joint with an autozone special 2 years ago and have yet to tear it up. I think it cost me around 13 bucks, guy at the counter asked if I wanted the premium most bestest for like 50 bucks or this heavy duty generic for 12.99. Needless to say it cost me 26 bucks but at least I have a spare now. Glad I could help out, but you werent that stuck, a yota pulled you out with open diffs

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some of those places have lifetime warranties on stuff? Or is that the difference between $13 and $50? I remember getting unit bearing hubs for the Jeep and spending extra to get the lifetime warranty. Mudriding and big tires make the warranty worth it. Can you get lifetime warranties on u-joints? -RC PS- You should think about changing your avatar picture. It's depressing since that ZJs gone.

I have had real good luck out of Auto Zone's Brute Force joint. I sold a HP Dana 44 to a fellow that showered it with 500 or better horsepower in a mud racing truck in the Delta. I bought the axle back from him and it still had the same joints in it.

yeah, the only ones i know that have lifetime warranties are CTMs and thats just out of the question pricewise, just get the brute force ones, they are cheap and reliable, but id buy at least one spare, they always come in handy, and go ahead and see what kind you have in the ds as well, and get a spare for that too. thats what i do, but i tend to break stuff a lot...

Brute force joints used to have a lifetime warranty but they only have a year warranty now. They are pretty good joints. The best joints for the money are the new Spicer forged series joints.
If I did not run Spicer forged joints, I would run the Brute Force joints. I can tell you for a fact that there is a difference in joints and you will get what you pay for.
