I just installed a 231 tcase in my Grand. The case seems to be stuck in 4 lo now and will not shift out.Any help?

Can you be more specific?
Since you installed it, has it always been stuck in 4lo? Are you only trying to get it out while parked? Have you tried getting it out of 4lo by prying the linkage on the side of the transfer case? Maybe the linkage is binding between the case and your shifter. Try taking the shift linkage off and adjusting the transfer case to get it out of 4lo. Sometimes if the jeep is moving (2 or 3 mph) and the transmission is in neutral, the transfer case will shift more easily. It is for mine anyway.

I got it figured out.The switch for the 4wd has a longer shaft on the 249.I took this switch and put it in the 231.The shaft was binding on the gear inside the case.I backed it off a few turns and shifts great.Thanks anyway.
