Hey Paige, cant wait to see pics of your "bone stock" YJ... oh by the way, let me know where you got that stock YJ at, b/c Jeep did one hell of a job on that model... what year did they come out with the Jeep Beast again? They should definitely consider bringing it back out, maybe as a Limited edition or something... I know, Im such a fool.

Rob what kind of mods are you doing to the Tracker? I have been wanting to hear first hand of what someone was doing to wheel a Tracker. Are you still running stock running gear? Hope to meet you soon.

Hmm well doing the biggest mods first installing a 3 inch calmini suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift also putting 1.5 inch coil spacers in to boost its suspension. Im putting 33x12.50 Maxxix Buckshots on it along with eazy lockers front and back. Im planning on trailering it to GrayRock for June Jam and later swapping the gears, the stock 5.12's will motor it around fine in 4lo I think. The thing has 250k miles on it so expecting to break something or smoke the clutch on its first outing. after june jam am hoping to rebuild the 1.6 8v to .20 over with the calmini cam, header and exhaust and installing a centerforce dual clutch and upgrade to the 5.83's.
P.S. well the geo build will prob have to be delayed my wife totalled her Nissan Quest the other night. So looks like if I can get my Yota put back together will be taking it instead...I really wanted to take the Geo but there will be a next time I guess.

What's up fellow jeep junkies? I'm John from Starkville and I live just down the road from Chip. I'm 17 and I am head over heels in love with my 1985 CJ7. Its got a 4" suspension lift and mud tires. Now that the weather has turned cold I'm thinking about getting some doors and a top, but its a jeep, who needs them. Are y'all still holding any meetings? I'd love to meet up with the gang.

Welcome John! Stay tuned - I am hoping we can come up with a good meeting idea soon. It is awfully busy this time of year. I have something every night for the next 2 weeks.

Hi folks, my name's Clint, and I'm a freshman here in Starkville. RC tracked me down and told me about the club when he discovered that I had a Jeep. "Home" is Northwest Alabama--2 hours from GrayRock and 1.5 hours from Summertown--but that's only on select weekends. My '96 Cherokee is very stock, but I'll try anything reasonable. I'm hoping for a 3" lift and 31's early this summer.

From one Clint to another, welcome to the forum. We need to have a meeting soon, so that maybe many of the old and new members can attend. We need to all go riding somewhere, but I just wish it was warmer. The XJ is 4wd right?

Yes indeed, the XJ is 4x4. I'd be too embarrassed to post up if it weren't...

My name is Michelle Reeves, recent graduate of MSU, 26, and married (to a sailor). I have a 1980 CJ5 with problems. Last YEAR the steering column broke, and it has become the biggest hassle that I've had to deal with. Overhauling the engine and transmission was painless compared to the problems I've recently encountered. Being a broke college student/newlywed/newteacher, I searched for a deal on a new column. Sacrificing tilt, I put my trust in eBay and ordered a used column from someone in Minnesota. Long story short, we (my Dad and I) discover there are no bearings in the bottom end of the column, there is no info in the Haynes manual about the column, and, to top it off, I cannot find a bearing kit for the column. I WANT MY JEEP BACK! Since '97 OleBlue has been my DD. I bought a car for my commute to school - a car is just not my cup of tea. Other than spending $300+ for a new column, any suggestions? All this rain and I'm stuck in a Kia...
