i bought the grand.but the front end still makes that ungodly sound when i get on the throttle pretty good.i'm not scared of the sound because i'm sure i can fix it if i can narrow it down.i'm kinda looking forward to it.i need info...any help would be great .it has a 5.2 v8,auto.full time 4x4 which i am going to change to part time.the noise is a loud knocking coming from the front you can feel it too.sounds like it might be an axle stripping its splines(has new axles).some one told me that it has some kinda slip clutch something or another on the front to keep it fromcatching traction on dry pavement(huh???)please let me know if ya'll know or can find out anything.thanks BC

I'll call Corey tomorrow to see if he fixed his grand. I've torn apart my front end many times. I've got my stock CV axles on Ebay right now because I've got that new HP Dana 30 in mine. If the popping is your axles, I'll sell you mine for cheap. Do you live in Starkville? Where do you live? If you're around this weekend and you want to diagnose it, give me a call at 312-5997. I'm sure it wouldn't take long to find out what the problem is. -RC

Just out of curiousity I was wondering if it made any wierd noises while turning. Do the front tires bark while making tight turns? Does the popping noise occur then also? Do you ever feel any feedback in the steering wheel while this popping is going on? I was wondering if maybe the problem is in your transfer case. Maybe the all-wheel drive is engaging/disengaging and making noises somehow. Just a thought. -RC

it only makes the noise when i get on the throttle.the transfer case seems to be in good shape.i have isolated the noise to the front of the grand,i just don't know where.the only way for me to trouble shoot it is to let my wife get on the throttle while i am laying near the front to try to pinpoint it.which is not gonna work because that gives her way too many ideas.i can just read the headlines now.
