I looked at a 1 ton jeep for a good price, I think, its got everything but it has a 4.2, or since I can't get much interest on the 5 for sale, I thought about going 3/4 tons on it, I just hate to cut it up being as clean as it is for a 73. I already have h1's and the jeep has a good drivetrain and I already have the propane conversion. This would Be much cheaper esp since it doesn't look like anyone wants it. What do yall think?

Dan this may sound short as I am typing on my phone. I went through the same scenario myself. You are in the same position as I am with my family. The CJ5 is great for hunting and sneaking around the woods in this part of the country. Hardcore crawling is a challenge especially if family members lives are in your hands. You will have to do major modifications to the frame and body to get the desireable wheelbase and driveline angles. My '75 CJ5 was so nice that I could not tear it up. The last I heard it lives in Colorado. My recommendation would be patient and wait for the 5 to sell and find the right rig that you and your family could enjoy.
