I'm not sure what time I'd be able to head out Fri. afternoon so, do ya'll know what the cut off time is for checking into the campground? If it's earlier in the evening then I'll just strike out early Sat. morning. Also, I'll be a first timer and by myself at GrayRock so I'd like to catch up with someone there and get pointed in the right direction before I find myself on a trail that I have no business on. I am not sure there is a cut off time. I don't really think they close the gates. I don't anticipate getting there before 7:00 P.M. myself. My truck will be a white 92 chevy 3500 with a large slide-in truck camper in the back of it. I will be wheeling a green tube buggy. Hook up with us when you get there. It has been a few years since I have been there. I may need to refamilarize myself with trails. Brian, I am bringing JD that you met at Hot Springs and my oldest son. The truck camper is a bit small, but if you are desperate there will be room to make a pallet in a warm spot. I will be towing with a white and green chevy z71 (can't miss it) and wheeling an o.d. green wrangler. If I get in the area before dark I am going to camp. If not I will be there when they open the gates in the morning. Rob the park has definatley changed. I will be ringing you up as soon as I can so we can get together. God Bless and be careful , Bryan

I am reporting from grayrock on my cell. It is sat night and JD and I are roughing it in the camper watching nascar.
It has been a beautiful day. I broke a tie rod on the first trail. I was hitting tub rock pretty hard, which Jason made up (one of few). I found a welder and was back on the trail in 1.5 hours. Jason broke a driveshaft late morning. Chris broke a driveshaft about mid afternoon in his CJ7. He had a spare. Brian had some overheating issues on his power steering pump. I guess Dan and his CJ5 are living well.
The most fun we had today was the canyon trail. Most of us hit it twice today. Ther has been a lot of traffic here, but most folks have been courteous. JD and I are going to wake up early and hit a few trails before most of the party animals get up. We will pack up and leave by mid morning.

Still at grayrock. I flipped on my lid this morning at Big Egg. It was awesome! I will post pics when I get back. Dan you may not want to tell Heather about this since you have the buggy momentum going.

if the cage its job and you are still here to tell about it, it may just fuel the fire, all she said is how smooth it was and how good it road and how safe she felt esp. with the harness compared to the 5. that was a big hill, were you at the top?

The cage worked beautifully. I practiced what I preach to everybody that gets in - I case of a rollover don't panic and grab the top part of your harness to keep your hands inside. It was neat dangling from the harnesses. the cage and buggy as a whole sustained no damage whatsoever. My hood got a little banged up. I had recently put a sheetmetal hood on to knock down heat and any hot fluid that may want to spill over the top. I only lost a quart of transmission fluid. I had no fuel spill since it was propane. BTW, the motor was still running upside down. I had to kill it or else it would have kept on going. I had gotten nearly to the top of the center of big Egg when a little throttle was required to go over a bump. The front end raised as if it was going to turn over backwards - I let off the throttle to try to maintain position, however when the front end landed it took a hop to the side and left me vulnerable to a side roll. I will post more pics tonight. I am sorry that I don't have pics of anyone else. My co-captain was in charge of pictures. Do you guys have any of other trails and your rigs? I will be glad to post them.

I had a blast !!! Once I learned how to drive all over again my day got easier. I got to help out working on everyone elses Jeeps and buggies this time, instead of mine.(probably will be mine next time) The weather was great ,the crowd was great during the day,I don't know how it went later in the night but all in all I had a wonderful time,a much needed escape. I think that Dan did a great job picking a camping spot and we should try to get that same area next time we go and all of us camp in the same spot . I am going to try for the Xrra event the first weekend in March , but no promises.Mom is telling me that I have to get a house built and she was gracious enough to "let" me go this time. I really think that she was ready to be rid of me for a day or so any way.

Sorry for the delay in posting. I had a blast this weekend. This was my first ride where I could actually justify airing down my tires. Although I enjoyed pushing my rig hard enough to break something, I apologize for Rob’s smashed finger. I really appreciate all the extra hands and help on the trails!! The couple of pics that I took had the color all messed up. I did what I could with them. They are of the Canyon trail.

Yeah, we will be there. We have a bunch of friends racing.
I doubt CRAWL will be there. They are, for the most part, out of business. Ricky B (works for CRAWL) will be there taking pics but he cant even get in touch with them anymore.
