Since I bought a Rubicon, I'm going to make a long trip happen this summer. I plan on driving the Jeep out there tentatively the second week in May and car camping my way there at KOAs or state parks until I can't take it any longer. I thought about adding a second leg to the trip and driving through to the Rubicon, but gas prices may dictate whether or not that would happen. The pace will be relaxed unless driving through flat parts of the US, then all bets are off. Anyone want to meet up there or road trip out? 1500 miles exactly according to Google Maps: It feels like a long time driving too...

Man that looks like an awesome trip. I don't think I'd be able to take that much time off, but if I could, I would. Take lots of pictures. Looks fun. -RC

That sounds pretty awesome. That is my dream trip. Do it now before the possibility of getting tied down by profession and family (not that those are bad things). My teachers don't leave until June 1st, but I have 10 vacation days saved up that I will have to spend before July 1st. I would like to consider something like that in the near future. Keep us posted on your thoughts and planning. There are some tiny pull behind sleeping bunks out there now. I see a lot of bikers pulling them. You might want to consider something like that. I have even seen homemade ones on the Internet - made out of plywood. Search for "tear drop camper". Since I bought a Rubicon, I'm going to make a long trip happen this summer. This is you Craig. If I had a setup like the ones below I would quit work so that I could take about a 2 month journey across the country. Home made one: www.geocities.com/slit_closed/ A fellow with your skills could put this together. You can tell that I have dreamed of a Jeep road trip. www.flickr.com/photos/bigwoodycampers/show/BTW, I have been at NEMCC all day. I have walked by your office twice with no luck. I left a voicemail on your phone posing as a guy from the IT dept. at your work. I was going to threaten you with unauthorized use of the school Internet for personal use so that I could blackmail you for lunch. We have had a bunch of students on campus today for DECA competitions. I will be back in a few weeks. We will have to catch up. Please disregard that voice mail

Dang man, I picked up the phone JUST as it quit ringing. I got the dial tone and forgot to check the voicemail when I got back. Please call me ahead of time and we can grab lunch.
Are you coming for the Science & Engineering fair in March?
