Haven't ever riden with you guys before but I've been getting my jeep ready to rock n roll in anticipation for labor day and will have it up in starkville at school with me for easy access. know of a few smjc guys going to houston, some LA guys going to hot springs, and im sure there are some big events going on other places, ect.. Those where my current options and I was wondering if you guys were planning on a trip anywhere over the long weekend? I've been itching to ride for TOO LONG and a ride with gtjc would be just awesome

Well, Heath, by the sound of it (chirp, chirp) no one up here is going anywhere during Labor Day. Hot Springs wouldn't be bad, but since I am still without a capable tow vehicle, unless someone from up here goes, and has extra trailer space, I'm out. Maybe something will work out between now and then.

I have been in a race for the past weeks getting everything ready for school to start. I would absolutely enjoy riding somewhere in the near future, however my position lately has not allowed me to dedicate to a trip until right before it occurs. I also have two children, one of which was born on Labor Day and the other on Memorial day. Birthday parties really put a damper on these weekends for riding. Maybe it will get better as they get older. Please keep this thread updated if you decide on a trip. If all of the planets align I just may be able to go.

That looks pretty sweet. Yeah I think a trip to AL would be a lot easier (not to mention cheaper on the tow rig gas bill) and we could ride more than on a trip to hot springs or somewhere far away. I have never been to gray rock, morris mountain, or this new place. I'm getting close to have my jeep ready, been working and spending money all summer (not to mention past 5 yrs) and am ready to hit the rocks!! I believe gray rock is also hosting a big event the weekend after labor day weekend.

I haven't taken it any where since I went to Gardendale before the summer. I am going stir crazy !

Looks like a pretty neat place although I've never been to Grayrock either.

Anybody had anymore thoughts about a ride coming up? I had to charge my buggy this weekend since it had not been cranked in so long. The hardest part was getting all of the junk off of it that has collected over the past months. This is sad.

I did look at their web site and it looks like some pretty good challenges for all types of rigs. I am all for experiencing new places. I am still a bit in limbo waiting to finalize birthday party plans for one of my younguns who was born on labor day. I put in my request early that we have the party the weekend before. We will see how much clout I have.

I would like to go most anywhere. Problem is, I am unable to tow large distances (further than Fulton or Greyrock at most) right now. But if someone has any extra trailer space, I'm more than willing to share in the cost of fuel.

Two factors will determine space. 1- The kids birthday party will determine if I actually get to go 2 - If the family decides to go i will have to take the camper. That will take up too much space. Lets keep it in mind to see if it will work out.

I appreciate it. The family is up to going also as long as I agree to stay in an air-conditioned place, so we'd be riding in a separate vehicle. Just need trailer space as the 4-cyl Camry isn't quite up to towing the jeep and trailer.

Which ever way it goes, I registered for the event at Hot Springs that weekend (still got it for free I think) and asked off for the Friday before.
