I went to Clayton Ok with a couple of guys from AL last week (Matt and John). We rode Wedensday and Thursday. Wednesday, just before dark Matt bent his rear crossmember which caused the rear of his tub to crack in two places. He also cut a brake line on the way out. Thursday, We rode most of the day without any carnage. About 4:00 I broke the rear output shaft on my D300. Clayton is always a lot of fun. Here are a few pics That I took.
I left Clayton early Friday morning headed for Hot Springs to meet Pat, Joe, Todd, and my brother Charles. This was my brothers first trip in his jeep.
I got there about 11am Friday and waited on Pat to bring a spare Dana 300. When Pat got there we dropped the two transfer cases off at Skids offroad, for them to swap the rear output shaft. When we got back to the park I jumped in with Pat and we took off with Joe and Todd. We ran a few of the tougher trails while Charles was setting up camp. Joe broke a axle shaft on Vertical Challenge so we went back to camp for repairs. When that was fixed they decided to make a just before dark trip to run Schaffers. Pat was trying to run the optional line over the two big boulders on the right, and broke his transmission. He was trying to winch out and he stripped the gears in his winch. They finally got him out and loaded on the trailer. Saturday, I put my transfer case in and we were on the trails by 9:00, we did a lot of riding without carnage. We were slowed down a little by Charles but we still had a great time and he did a good job driving. Todd's new buggy worked really well once he aired down to about 2psi.
