Anyone got a tubing bender in the Starkville (GT) area I can make use of for a short time? I need to put a couple of 90 degree bends in either 1.5" or 1.75" HREW.
Thanks,
-jim

My (borrowed) bender is in Tupelo, but I can bring it down and help you next week. The only die I have is for 1.75" tubing.

Sounds good. I need to make a piece to tie-in my rear seat belt mount bar and my rear roll bar mount on the fenderwell. I'm also trying to figure out what to do with my front seats. May need to make a loop to mount them on but haven't decided yet how to tackle it. I've got some 1.75 and short pieces of 1.5. My rear seat belt bar was 1.5 but wouldn't hurt for the tie-in piece to be 1.75 since it's on the other side of the fenderwell.

Ok no problem...BTW, you'll have to have a place to mount the bender with concrete anchors. It's a manual pull deal and has to be anchored really well.

Hmmmm. May have to drill a few holes in my carport floor.

I've heard of people mounting it to the trailer hitches on their trucks. I saw it on Mallcrawlin: It might be simpler and less permanent than drilling holes in the floor. Just a thought... -RC

Now that's a cool idea. If I could figure out a way to do it without modifying the bender then that'd be great. I got some 2" square tube to make something up. Hmmmm, Craig, what does the mount look like? Perhaps I could rig up a mounting plate to connect to it's mounting plate. How far apart are the mounting holes and how big are they?

I'm not sure about the measurements... Tell me a day next week. Anytime after this weekend is good for me. EDIT: I take that back. I found the info. www.vansantent.com/model_three.pdfYou'll need two 3/4" holes 2" apart in kinda heavy plate. I'd say 1/4". Then you can use the 2" tubing to make a deal like RC posted. I like that idea a lot too.

Were you thinking some evening? That would work for me since I don't have that much to bend. My kids are gone to grandparents for the week so any day after work would be fine (Tues/Wed/Thurs?). I can make the mounting plate, although I was thinking about making a plate that bolted to the plate at the bottom of the stand. But, I can make the whole thing if you think that would work better.

Got the hitch stand made tonight. I haven't permanently mounted the top plate yet since I didn't know which direction it needed to go. Won't take long to attach it. Sent you my phone# via PM. Just give me a ring whenever you get a chance. -jim
