Did you get the ORC springs put on your YJ yet? Have any performance critiques? Impressions?

I am embarrassed to say ,that I haven't yet.I have had to actually move them from their resting place twice, and I said If I pick them up again I am going to put them on. I am ordering some new u bolts and plates also but have been so busy I haven't finalized the build yet. I'll gladly let you know when I do it and will post up some pics.

I have all 4 .I am going to put on a better set of shackles front and rear. I don't really want much more lift than the new springs are going to give so I'll have the shackles made locally. There is a truck body manufacturer in wren and that is where I'll get the u bolts . I am just trying to not have the same problems I had on the first ride. I watched a jeep set up basically the same way on the Gardendale trip and it performed great . Maybe I'll get the same results.

Are you talking about the springs that Keith Bailey sells for spring over jeeps?

Craig, I thought I would respond to this since you know how my jeep does and I run these springs.
I have ran them springs on my jeep for about 4 years. I put them in when I put Dana 60's under my jeep. They are a 9 leaf spring with a military wrap. I think they give about 3 inches of lift more than a convential Wrangler 5 leaf spring. When I first ran them, they were very stiff and I felt like I was in the sky. I ended up taking leaves out until I got to 5 leaves. I ran that for a while until I bent a rear leaf. I went to Coil springs in the rear.
I had bent around 4 YJ leaf springs in the front or the rear of my jeep before going to 60's. That is why I decided to go with these springs. For a buggy, I would think that you might not have the weight to make these springs work. I would take that into consideration.

Thanks Jason, I didn't realize that you ran those. That's very good information. I may just run stock Waggy springs in the front then.

If I run leaf springs in front for a buggy, I would run those springs that All-Pro Offroad runs. They are Toyota leaf springs and have a lot of offset to help with the approach angle.
