I went to Morris Mountain Saturday after tracing down a charging gremlin all day Friday. On Good, Bad, and the Ugly (the first obstacle @ 9 am) I broke the output shaft in the D20 case. Here's a pic: As you can see, it is a clean break. I've known for a long time that this is the weak link in my drivetrain. AA sells an upgraded 32 spline shaft for about $400, but I'm just going to use another stock shaft and carry a spare for now. Anyone have a D20 rear output shaft? Here's the spot where I broke:

What was your opinion of Morris Mountain? How is the riding? Camping site?

How many splines are your stock one? Apparently jeeps came with either a 26 spline or a 10 spline. I've got a 10 spline one not doing anything but you probably don't want that one.

All Early Broncos came w/ 10 spline rear outputs. It's definitely the weak link in the drivetrain. From what I've read, I think the Jeep shaft needs machining for the input snout to fully engage. Thanks though.
This was my second time there, and it is a fun place. There are some serious obstacles, but very few trails over 100 feet long or so. It's mainly dirt roads and really short obstacles kind of like Gray Rock. The Gauntlet is fun and nasty. Good, Bad, and Ugly is just point and shoot and hope you make it. The Punisher is a huge ledge; again, point and shoot. V-Notch is kind of technical, yet still a ledge. Los Primos is just sick, flat out. There are a bunch of new trails that we didn't do Saturday. I think everybody ran those Sunday, but I came home instead.
If it's wet, those trails are really tough. In the summer when it's dry, they aren't nearly as bad, just like all the other Southern trails.
For $20/day or $30/weekend, it's a fun place. Randy and Kris are good people. There's plenty of room to park, but there are no hook ups for an RV. The camping is primitive, but there is a small bath house w/ two toilets and two showers. Bring your flip flops for the shower, if you know what I mean...
