That weak motor is a little embarassing. It will do stuff ok if I can get a running start. I have got to get a motor rebuild under way. I have a 460 Ford in my garage that is about to have a going through. I need about 350-400 horses to be able to turn those 44's over till they cry uncle.

Sounds as if it might be over geared.. What is the gear ratio?? Just wondering... With 44's you should have at least 4:56 probobly even lower.. 5:13 would be awesome... And it would get the engine into higher rpm band that would help alot.. There is a guy around here running a bronco with 3:07's and 49's he cant even climb curbs.. ;D But he is a mall cruiser so he doesnt care... Oh by the way.. My name isCarl.... Thats is a very nice looking rig..

Carl, he has 6.72:1 gears in those rockwell axles.

It is no doubt motor and not a gear problem. I know that I have very low compression on cylinder #7, and the rest aren't all that perky either. I thought that with 6.72:1 gears that I would not need all that much motor, but for rock crawling and trail riding you need a lot of torgue on the low end. It is ok mud riding when you can get the rpm's rolled up and hit the hole.

Yikes that is definatly geared well.. 460 will be hella strong... and parts for it are reasonably priced... Keep posting pics.. I would love to see that thing in person.. It looks awesome...
