RC ripped his tailpipe off at Ridge Lakes last week and is finally getting around to fixing it. Trial fitting the new pipe Taking a break. Hey speaking of breaks, where is Clint? Shouldn't he be helping??? The gas tank is where??? Nice bead!

I imagine the old tail pipe was injured at the Lux run in Columbus and the lakes just finished it off huh. Looks like you did a nice welding job.

Here's the pics of the old pipe. It was literally wrapped around the rear axle and the rear tire was on top of the tailpipe! Needless to say it wouldn't run with the pipe all kinked up. It took 3 cuts and some bending to get it off. Old vs. New. The bend for over the axle. The bend was worse before we took it off. Nice tip! FYI the interior noise is loud with the exhuast dumping out of the flowmaster right under the rear seat. I didn't think it would make much difference only cutting off the tailpipe, but the Jeep had a much meaner attitude. I replaced the pipe though for fear of getting carbon monoxinde in the cab. Suffocating in traffic would be bad. Besides that my mom and sister thought it was unbearable to be seen riding in it with it so loud. Oh well. -RC

The exhaust tip looks to be alittle bigger. Does it give it a different sound that the stock pipe?

No the picture lies. Everything between the old pipe and the new are the same size. I was really impressed by it when I picked it up at Autozone. It was only about $40, and it fit exactly like the stock one. I didn't think it would have the tip on it either, but it did. When the tailpipe got bent up, the first thought in my mind was "crap this is gonna be expensive." I thought I'd have to get a exhaust shop to bend up a new pipe. Thankfully I didn't have to. I just borrowed the Guyton's MIG welder and welded it up. If anything it sounds quieter to me. I think it might be because I got used to the loud Jeep without the tailpipe. Now it's more tame. I relocated the tip further in under the body so it wouldn't be so vulnerable to getting hit. It still kinda sticks down low though. It might get ran over again, who knows. -RC
