I finally found a place that will repair my 44" Swamper TSL. I have been trying for a month now to find someone who can vulcanize a rip in the sidewall. Here is the info:
H & D Tire Repair 1204 Montgomery Highway Centreville, AL 35042 205-926-7116
I am going tomorrow to buy a new TSL and get my old one fixed for a spare. I will post as to how satisfied I am with the fix.

Cool, b/c I have no idea how vulcanizing works. I imagine its a strong patch of some sort.

I am absolutely pleased with H & D Tire Repair. I got my tire fixed and bought a spare to take to the trail with me. One tire vulcanized and two tires mounted on the rims ran $45.
It appears that they grind the rip out and and dump raw rubber in the void and heat it for about 2 hours at a pretty hot setting. The rubber bonds with one another. On the inside they put a super strong (boot) patch. I honestly believe that the area that is fixed is stronger than the rest of the tire. You will have to be looking pretty close to see where they fixed it.
The guys name is Ted and here is all of his contact info:
