Ok 1st off looks like I am going to be doing a SAS on my truck. The kit I am getting to do this will be using waggy springs on the front. Now the question has anyone made shackles for custom apps? Am asking because the truck will have waggy springs in the front and prob will be using 63" chevy springs in the rear and was hoping to make my own custom shackles to acheive the lift needed for 35's.

Yeah will be using SOA, just ordered a 85 toy doner front end with 4.10 gears and the Sky Manufacturing kit includes springs high steer kit springs and all hangers. I'm not sure how the chevy springs and waggy springs will lift the front and rear so after I get everything installed I was hoping to custom make shackles to even everything up. I already have 1/4" plate 8"x20' I had already gotten to make a bumper for the Geo till I sold it Also going to order the widening kit to widen the toy solid axle to mate up to the IFS width rear end.

Have you posted pics of the truck yet? Id really like to see it. I have a project truck, well half mine, and its in the projects section under Macho Taco, though thats hardly what is so far, but its getting there. It sounds somewhat similar to yours.

Ill have to upload one of it but its almost exactly like the project taco. 91 toy ext cab 4x4 5 speed v6. Actually there is sort of a pic of it on the project tracker section its behind the Geo. I was originally hoping to keep it stock until the Gdale trip and it got beat on pretty good so I'll just buy me another DD one day and fix this one up for the trail rig heh

ours just has the stock motor, 202,000 miles and still going... though you have to keep an eye on the power steering fluid level, and it leaks about half a quart of oil a month. what all have you done to your motor?

Mine is still stock but had a backfire thru the intake about 6 years ago (knock sensor/wire) went bad and caused it. Ruined 2 injectors (replaced all 7 including the cold start one), blew out my mass air flow sensor, and just recently replaced the water pump. Needless to say I've had the motor stripped down with just the heads still attached once and almost that bare 3-4 more times. Its a good motor just a PITA to work on. Mine just turned 209k miles and no leaks of any kind anymore(reason the water pump was replaced) Hoping tax time Uncle Sam is going to rebuild it for me, The compression on 2 cyl. are a bit lower than the other 4 but all are weak, motor still pulls good but definatly weaker than it should be.

since ive only put about 1000 miles out of 202,000 on this truck, i dont know what it use to run like, but it seems like it has a lot of lag in it. it tends to have to work up to get in the higher rpms, not near as quick as my TJ does, but it only has 113,000 miles or so on it. he wants to put a crate motor in it later on, but for now it will have to do. at least its fuel injected.

Get it rebuilt if you guys have the time to pull the motor it costs about 1800 to have someone rebuild it, a decent crate motor is going to cost you around 3k+. Mine doesnt wind up fast under a load, but at low rpms it has good power and has good torque for its age/mileage. The little tracker with 31's would outrun the truck, well till about 85 mph and would run out of rpms. The truck though has towed well over 6500 lb trailer but top speed was around 60 mph heh. The tracker couldnt pull an empty trailer sitting on the 31's
