I live just past the overpass on 389...The sign says Kathryn Cove. It's the first drive on the right past the bridge. Do you live just before the curve on the left, past where they always have the scarecrow's legs sticking out of a round hay bale in the fall? The Jeep is looking good, too! Keep it up. Why not put a full Detroit in the back? I live on around the curve from Charlie Peay's. Just a little farther out. This CJ is my daily driver in good weather, so it sees a lot of highway miles. So I was thinking about either a limited slip or a selectable like a ARB or something. I saw the true trac advertise from someone on the SMJC board for a pretty good deal so I went that route for now. Didn't want to put too much $$ into the AMC 20. If I ever break the 20, I rescued a 9 inch from a vehicle in the scrap metal yard in Columbus. Always like to have a backup plan. And, if I don't break the 20, then I gotta do something with all these extra CJ parts I have lying around....

Got the truss finished up for the M20 last night. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. Mocked up with the new diff cover. Gonna drill the bolt holes after everything is all welded and bolted up: Gonna pull the axle today and weld it on along with the traction bar bracket and regear (finally get rid of the 2.73's! woo hoo!). Also gonna put on the bigger 11" drum brake set I have and the BTF diff cover and a Detroit Tru-Trac LS diff. With the one-piece axle shafts already in it, that should take care of everything on the rear end I plan to do. BTW, any idea what size tubing I should build the traction bar itself out of? I'm thinking about 1.25" DOM. I picked up a small piece to extend my front DS with and it looks like it would work. Too big? Too small?

Back done. Before: After: Now on to the front...... Probably will just regear and lincoln-lock it for now to make the 7th. Then tear it apart later for the complete rebuild. Still gotta extend my front DS and make my traction bar for the rear.

Man that truss looks great! I was thinking about doing a truss very similiar to that but just haven't gotten around to it on the rockwells yet.

Thanks. I was gonna extend it out to the spring mount on the right side, cover up the vent hole and retap it at the top but then thought it would look even more out of whack than it does already. Nothing like adding another 50 pounds to the weight of that thing, too, but I am impressed with the diff cover from BTF. That sucka is stout; made outa 1/4" and 3/16" plate.
