I am tired of being the smallest jeep, well except of Rick ;D. I need to get some larger tires under me. I have decided to do a SOA. With a SOA I will have 8 1/2" of lift. That should be plenty to get some 35s under me. If anyone has done this please chime in, I need all the help I can get.
I have a set of YJ springs someone is holding for me untill I can go get them.
Here are a few things I need. (If I missed something let me know)
4 spring perches (Looking at RE or MORE) extended brake lines longer drive shafts drop pitman arm High steer of some sort anti wrap axle device
All sugestions welcome.

You might have to move your rear axle back some for that much lift, not really sure. This would involve moving your leaf spring brackets further back. 8 1/2" lift, and only 35s?!? I wanna see some 37s or 38s!!!

you'll have to change hangers and shackles on the front anyway b/c yj springs measure 2.5 inches wide and front cj springs are 2". yj and cj rears are both 2.5". you should think about doing a shackle reversal. it sure would make it ride better. also, stock wrangler springs are notorious for having a lot of body roll and for sagging after some hard 'wheeling that requires the springs to flex a bunch. check out www.4x4now.com/bulj.htm for some good info regarding this.

CJ front spring hangers are 2.5 inches wide and do not have to be changed to 2.5 springs. I would argue against getting a shackle reversal. It generally messes your steering geometry up and you will have to get a very long slip yoke driveshaft to keep it from pulling out a full flex. With flat springs such as wranglers, the ride is actually better with shackles in front.

I have to agree with Jason on this one. I had a shackle reversal on my Bronco wihen I had the 3/4 ton axles under it. Everytime I flexed it seemed that I pulled my driveshaft apart. Another thing to think about is the fact that that shackle will stick down behind your front tire and will almost always cause you to get hung up on something, especially when you try to back up off of something. With the shackle in the front you may still get hung up, but at least you can back up and take another line. With the leaf spring attached to the frame behind the tire you will will be able to slide over stuff better.

i guess it depends on how brad's going to use it. no doubt the wrangler springs will ride good with the shackle positioned at the fore end of the spring. i could have sworn cj front hangers were only 2" but i stand corrected
