I've been on and off this board for the past year since i'm student at MSU. Just wanted to let you guys know that the club i belong to, Rocket City Rock Crawlers, is hosting their 6th annual King of the Hill Rock Crawl Competition on August 25. Its locate in Florette, Alabama, which is about a 30 minute drive south of Huntsville. We are always looking to create new ties in the off-road community and if you guys would like to volunteer and help out with this event it would be greatly appreciated. Some of the perks of volunteering is a t-shirt, free food and drink, free admission to the event, and some raffle tickets for a raffle at the end of the event (one of the raffled prizes will be a 8000lbs Warn winch). Even if you don't volunteer, we invite you guys out to have some fun and even compete to see who can win the race to the top. For more details on the competition and volunteering visit www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com If there any question please feel free to ask. -Michael

Cathey and I went to this event 3 or 4 years ago to watch and it was a lot of fun. A lot of the B'ham guys and Off-Road Connection guys go to this to compete.
The main thing to look out for is Poision Ivy. it is everywhere.

Yeah the poison ivy can be a pain. I suggest boots and pants or pre-treating your skin if you're gonna wear shorts cause you its gonna be hot. Last year we had about 50 rigs and over 1000 spectators. Hopefully this year will be even better.
