Sam's Offroad is putting on a ride at Hot Springs, ARK on Memorial Day weekend. Cathey and I are going to sign up for this ride some time this week. You have to register with Sam's Offroad for the ride. We plan on traveling Friday and camping Friday, Saturday, and possibly Sunday night. Anyone interested? www.samsoffroad.com/events.htm

Reckon I will have to set this one out as well. Probably will be in the hospital or close to it at that time.

As much as I would like to go, I will probably have to sit it out as well. Anna starts her job that Monday and we will be moving in starting that Wednesday before.

I will admit I am a big ole SISSY! Notice the capital letters. You tell your wife as she is giving birth - "well honey I have had a good time and all watching this, but I would rather take off to Hot Springs and I will see you in a few days." Her face might look like this: I can only imagine the after shock of breaking that news to her.

I think I am going to try to make the June Jam at Gray Rock the next weekend. I just can't make the Hot Springs trip with us moving that weekend and all.

They do have showers... not quite as nice as Crawford's but the camping spots are better. The only thing is that you have to cross a creek to get to the showers and bathrooms from the camping area.

Jason, be sure you take plenty of pictures. I wish I was there! Sorry, no pictures taken. We forgot our camera. We had a great time. There was a lot of rigs there. I did not hear a final count but the manager said that this was there biggest weekend ever. Saturday I rode with a big group and it made things slow. It came a big rain Saturday night and rain us out Sunday Morning. We rode around Hot Springs that morning to let things dry out. On Sunday Afternoon, we rode with Jason and Rusty from Tupelo and had a blast. We covered more territory on Sunday afternoon in 4 hours than I had covered all day on Saturday. With everything being wet, 4 trails turned into 5 trails. My jeep did very well. I think that I am finally to a point where it is going to stay like it is. Boggers are definitely the tire of choice at Hot Springs. I did break the u joint and straps in my front drive shaft. I did this on the end of the day Saturday and went into town and got the parts to fix it. This break was more routine maintenance than trail failure. Overall, Hot Springs is awesome and by far the best place that I have found to ride. We are going to Tellico in a few weeks and I can not wait to compare the terrain and trails to what there is in Hot Springs.
