Would it be possible for us to go and camp on Friday night? I hope so. That was my plan also. Question for those that have camped there before... Are there any facilities ala Hot Springs? I only saw porta-johns when I was there for XRRA, of course I didn't see any other parts of the park and didn't see the camping ground either. Web site doesn't say anything except that camping is permitted for $5/day, which leaves me to think it's a "use what you brung" kind of thing.

It is probably the biggest major drawback for Grey Rock. I don't even think they have running water there.

Gray Rock is genuine primitive camping. Primitive like the caveman without the cave. There will be a porta-potty so everyone can still shake hands. They will, according to Off-Road Connection, allow us in on Friday evening for those who can make it that early. Most of CAFB4x4 are leaving at 6 AM from Columbus. We'll wake you up when we drive in . . . . .

We will see you at the Rock. Let us know how Gardendale is. We've heard it is not long for this world and may organize a farewell ride soon if it is close to being fenced in like we heard.

Well, dang it. Something came up and I'm not gonna make this one. Was looking forward to testing out the mods I have made but now it'll have to wait. Guess I'll look forward to one of the fall dates for Hot Springs.

I had a large time at Gray Rock. I've never had a tougher but more enjoyable ride there. It sure is nice to do the private ride thing. We will be posting possible dates in March 2008 in the next few days to get a consensus of which weekend we want to hold this again. The name for this ride was suggested to be changed to "Mississippi Assault on Gray Rock (MAGR)." I like it, what does everyone think?
Thanks to Tony for a great park and especially the River Ride Saturday evening. That was a high point. His CJ was really tough! We appreciate his spending time with us and letting us know more about Gray Rock over some fantastic ribs prepared by Widget.
Crooked Creek will never be the same for me. The creek was a cinch, forward AND backward, but the exits were insane with the torrential downpour we were having right then. Brian462 really can string cuss words together. I don't know if he ever really found that happy place, but he's much better now.
Hopping up on the Gray Rock Rock was a highlight for me after 4 previous tries. Just under that was seeing Boomers face when Big Green nearly rolled his truck on the Rock. Rob did a super job, with no mechanical helpers, in up and over the Rock.
No one beat Tippy Toes and almost everyone had a problem with the bypass. Closest to rolling on Tippy Toes award goes to Rob. That was scary! The next ride, White Oak, was a bit easier, but still had all the dangers there. 150 foot drop offs really make you watch your line.
There are over 250 pictures on my computer from the SD cards that were in my cameras. It will take a while for me to get to them posted somewhere for everyone to see the better of them.
Thanks to BCJeep and the West Point guys for supporting this first private ride. We enjoyed your company and watching you ride. (Even though most of us were trapped at Crooked Creek and never got to see the WP guys ride).
Great ride. Planning is starting now for the March MAGR. I'm going to try and get some local company sponsorship, maybe some raffle items and the like. Hmmmm. . . . . . . .

We really enjoyed the ride. The rain really hampered our riding since my jeep is mainly set up for fair weather riding. I was able to strap on a tarp on the top of the cage and ride some.
It was great to meet all of you and hope that we can ride with you more on your rides.
