Since I didn't get any takers, looks like I'll be driving over to Morris Mountain next Sat. Who all is going to the Shamrock Ride??

With diesel @ 3.60/gal. and rising and since the Windrock trip fell through and since I haven't touched my output shaft since it broke at Morris Mountain, I'm going to sit this one out.
I'm thinking of taking my car (40mpg hwy.) and driving around North Carolina next week exploring the mountains.

I believe we are going to attempt Coal Creek with a few folks from CMJC. My family and I are going to leave out about Wed. next week and pull to Chattanooga and spend Thursday just touring there. That night I am going to pull to Coal Creek and ride Fri. and Sat. then pull back home on Sunday. The news said this morning that OPEC is refusing to allow more oil to go into production. So it looks like prices will still continue to rise I may have to start scaling down to an ATV and pull it with my wife's minivan.

My wife's grandmother passed away a couple of days ago so we're going down to see her family tonight and will stay through the weekend. Otherwise, I'd have taken you up on that deal. Hope everyone has a safe and fun ride and take lots of pictures.

I may be able to swing that, Rob. I've been to MMORV and want to try somewhere new. I'm still searching for an output shaft.
Sorry to hear that Jim. Y'all be careful.

Probably going to be too close for me. Although I'm hoping to get most of my engine back together by tommorrow, I'm thinking the timing belt wont be in by then. Pretty sure it wont run very good without that.....

Maybe I can make ya'll feel a little better. The news said this evening that OPEC would continue to produce as they were , but blamed the US for poor management that has driven the prices up. So I am going to drive over to Morris Mountain next Sat, And probably Hot Springs during the summer. I would love to try Clayton out this year also.

Oil prices make me scratch my head. OPEC seems to have the U.S. by our little cojones. Heard on TV that diesel will go up $.15 over night, making it $3.70/gal. here in Starkville. The national average for diesel is also $3.70/gal.
Anybody got a 3 or 4 cyl. diesel? LOL Running of WVO is looking better every day.

Oh yeah, I meant to add, OPEC is a bunch of crazy people. Do ya'll remember when oil used to go up so high that the government would step in and release some of our reserves and cushion the price a little? What happened to that?

Haven't we been helping out a few countries lately that have a few barrels of oil laying arond. Seems we could sidestep OPEC and call in a few favors if we wanted.
I would be interested in going to Hot Springs this summer. Would like to go more than once on my yearly membership I got last labor day.
