Does anyone have a desire to do any riding over the holidays? I am getting my trailer and camper setup going and I may want to try it out soon. I sure did enjoy that Hot Springs trip a year ago. I opened the floor for discussion if anyone wants to chime in and throw out ideas. If I don't make a plan soon then the whole holidays will be planned for me.

The Barnyard has 12/28 - 1/1 indicated as open on their calendar. Won't be able to make a Hot Springs run this year since we'll be spending time with my wife's family in Disney, OK. She won't let me tow the jeep there either. Bummer. When ya'll say spring break, which week are you thinking of? I know that MSU has it's week 3/10 - 3/14, but sometimes other school systems choose different ones.

I had to go on ahead a make a call on a ride so that everyone elso could plan around daddy's time. My wife and kids and the Page family are going to Hot Springs over New Years. Jason and his wife are going to the Liberty Bowl on the 29th. They are leaving Memphis early the 30th to head to Hot Springs. We are leaving West Point very early on the morning of the 30th. The plan is to ride the afternoon of the 30th and however as many days after that as we can stand. Anyone is welcome to join us. We are just going to have a relaxed time of enjoying the beautiful country and the sport of 4 wheeling! Can you tell I am ready to be out of school for a few days. We will be camping in a campground outside of the park. Jason can post that information if you need it. Please join us if you like.

We will be staying at J&J RV Park. It is right across the road from the KOA and the road that goes to the offroad park. We like it because it is real easy to park our land barge that we have.

We will be coming home from Clayton on the 30th. If our rigs are not destroyed, I may try to pop in.

Rob, you might consider yourself lucky on the in-laws living there .All mine live in this area and I can't even get my Jeep dusty getting there.I hope we can get to ride more this coming year Maybe we all can make Hot Springs and Clayton, maybe even Morris Mountain.I hope to have a bigger and better rig together by spring time.

Well I didn't make it to Hot Springs but it wasn't because I broke. My jeep is running great but the guy that I hauled with broke his Tcase, so we came on home Sunday. Here is a link to some pics and a short write up on our Clayton trip. forums.cmsja.org/YaBB.pl?num=1199131598

I made it home late Tuesday night. I brought home a bad sinus infection so haven't been on the computer till now. Rob was going to spend some time with in-laws and I don't think that he will be home until Friday.
We rode two half days at the Superlift park. I think that we saw a total of 5 other vehicles. Riding was good but it was very, very cold.

I didn't make it anywhere this time. After doing a bunch of maintenance and repairs (rear main, pan gasket, re-seal t-case and adapter, fluids, etc...) I had to build a new t-case crossmember b/c I found that mine was destroyed. I don't see how it was holding up the transmission and t-case; there was about 1/2 of metal holding the thing together. One of the mounting bolts was also broken off in the adapter, so that had to be drilled and tapped for a larger size since the old bolt wouldn't turn loose of the aluminum in the adapter. Anyway, I bent up a new tube crossmember that fits better and should be stronger.
I also built a new twin-stick for the t-case using wrenches for the sticks.
Finally, I cranked it to find that my oil pan was leaking as was the transmission dipstick. Fixed the oil pan, and got a new (used) dipstick for the trans. yesterday...the old one had broken off in the case when I was lowering the trans. and t-case by myself, so I couldn't see that side of the trans.
So, I should be (fairly) ready to ride next time.

Hey I'm brand new to this site, but am sure looking for some new places locally to check out. Anybody got any suggestions? I'm tired of going through the same ruts. I've got a friend in Columbus that rides over at the Lux. I've been there several times, but hopefully he can show me some new stuff. Anyone else ridden at the Lux with suggestions? I'm in starkville but will go just about anywhere within a days drive for some good riding. I just recently rebuilt my samurai and put a new clutch in it, and its itchin to go. so I'm up for an early january ride! thanks great site!
