it's been kicking the trail's a$$ for a long time that's for sure. he'e from Arkansas and that was one of the first Jeeps I remember seeing in the magazines when I was a little squirt in 9th grade

LOL! yeah, i've gotten the frame boxed in front to back and strapped on top and bottom. i try to get pics up in the next few days. going to work on getting springs hung tomorrow afternoon late.

what engine are you going with craig? still thinking lightweight 4 cyl, or going for some more moderate power/torque?

4.3 Chevrolet...the stock 4 cyl weighs more than a V8, so I'll be saving weight and tripling HP (65hp stock-190 hp with the 4.3)

What trans and t-case did you say that you are going to run?
I was going a similar direction as you when the shopping cart distracted me. THe frame and 4.3 on that frame was intended for a flat fender body. Seeing yours may be the inspiration I need to continue that project someday. I will tell you that the 4.3 will be plenty of giddy up for you. I took the shopping cart mud riding and was really impressed with how the 4.3 turned those 44" Ground Hawgs. I am running a 700r4/ Np231 and dana 60/44 w 4:11 gears. I adapted a Motorcraft 2bbl carb, but I would like to see a 4.3 on propane some day. What kind of fuel are you going to run?
