some bad but not terrible news:the hotel rooms are 49.00 a night (something to do with some corporate something or another)and i can get as many as we need.i asked the manager about ten rooms and she said ok.the good news is they offer a great breakfast buffet and it is included in the room price already.i need to know as soon as possible, so we can make some reservations for the rooms, how many are definates.they will also give us access to a banquet type room for us all to get together and plan out our day.ya'll let me know and i'll start sweet talking these folks into getting prepared for us all.and for those that are interested there are some really cool night spots nearby.

If you plan on going email me at cj12yrold@hotmail.com, so we can reserve you a spot in the hotel. This goes for everyone, even if I already know youre going.

Hey how is everyone doing this is Matt from NWFL4x4 got a couple questions for you guys. First am I in the right topic for the 7-9th ride at gardendale and also will there be parking room for a couple 35ft goose neck trailors? We have about 8-10 people/rigs wanting to come up and are looking for some details. Lodging areas etc..... If there are maps that would be cool just a suggestion e mail the map out from the site here instead of going thru all the work to make copies etc have the people just print them out. Any info would be helpfull. Thanks matt

Heres a map so you can find the hotel: www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?searchtype=address&country=US&addtohistory=&searchtab=home&address=260+GOODWIN+CREST+DRIVE&city=birmingham&state=al&zipcode=To get to the trails, you will take I-65 north until you get to Mt. Olive Rd. You will take a left onto Mt. Olive Rd, and drive a few miles until you see a church directly in front of you. There should be a sharp left turn here with a fence lining the road on one side and a row of trees on the other. This road should be Newfound Rd I believe. You will drive a mile, maybe 2, and the road will be straight and have steep decline to it. The entrance to the trails will be on the right (pretty much just looks like a hole in the treeline). We should be all together at the hotel though, but for those not staying with us, we will meet probably at the Cracker Barrel or something. If youre not staying at the Alta Vista let me know and we will set up a time to meet you. 662-341-5509

Oh yeah, when is everyone leaving to head over there? Check in time is 3:00 pm, so I was thinking I may go on Friday to make sure everything goes smoothly. The rates are looking like $49 a night, and we get free breakfast in the morning (a good one from what I hear). Who alls gonna go Friday, and who all is showing up Sat. morning? Bryan said theres some good night spots and food places close to the hotel if anyones interested in that as well.

Anyone who wants to show up Friday, the rooms will be under GTJC. We will be leaving the Alta Vista hotel b/w 8 & 9 am on Sat to hit the trails. For all that will be showing up on Sat morning, I will meet you at the Cracker Barrel right off of I-65 north in Gardendale (you cant miss it) at 9 am. I will hang around for about 15 minutes, then Im heading out, but you can use the directions above to find us. GPS can come in handy also if you show up late. I will be eating lunch on the trails, to avoid having to come back out and into town.
