C.A.O.S. is putting on Fall For All at Gray Rock

Come check out Alabama’s best trails on this privately owned ORV Park. With over 2000 acres “Gray Rock ORV” has something for everyone. We’ve put together the fun of trail rides with the excitement of competition. This event boast a combination of a competition, mud bog, and trail rides, which make the Fall For All fun for the whole family.

Event Cost
For pre-registration the cost is only $55 per driver and vehicle and $5 per each passenger for the weekend or $30 a day. Deadline for pre-registration is October 1st or you can register on site for $65 per driver and vehicle and $5 per passenger. Paid entry includes an event plaque, 1 raffle ticket and all the trail riding you can stand. Also, (optional but no extra charge), entry into the competition. T-shirts are not included in the entry fee but can be pre-ordered on the registration form. Also, there will be snacks and food available. Lunch/Dinner Saturday & Lunch on Sunday by the same folks that cooked at last year’s Fall For All!

There are some new rules: No one under 18 allowed in without a parent or legal guardian. No spectators allowed in. Park closes at 4pm on Sunday. No Glass Bottles.

Trail Rides & Competition
We have a unique trail ride adventure. There will be NEW maps available (while they last) at registration. All the trails are marked with signs and arrows. We will have workers everywhere around the park to help with whatever you may need. Helmets are required for competition on Sunday.

Motels & Camping
Primitive camping is available where the action is on the event property for $3 a night!

Directions
From exit 272 on I-65, go west on Mt. Olive Rd. for 6 miles. Go left on “Old” Mt. Olive Rd. entrance to event property & primitive camping is 0.3 miles on the left.

Rules & Regulations for Park Use
• No one under 18 allowed in without being accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Entry Fees are due upon arrival for all persons entering area
• Must be a licensed driver to participate.
• Speeds on roads must be kept to 10 MPH. (Strictly enforced)
• NO reckless driving will be permitted.
• Absolutely no trail riding after dark. You will be asked to leave.
• Tree savers are required for all winch points.
• Seat belts are to be worn while the vehicle is in motion
• Stay on designated trails, no trailblazing.
• No fires are to be built except in designated areas.
• No discharging of firearms at any time.
• Must be of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Any minor caught drinking will be turned over to the Deputy on duty.
• No consumption of alcoholic beverages on the trails!
• There will be absolutely no tolerance for littering. If there is trash on the ground, please do your part and pick it up and put it in the trashcan. Cigarette butts are considered trash.
• No glass containers of any kind at all, no exceptions. Coolers will be checked before entering Park.
• All people are required to be in seatbelts to enter Park. No riders in the backs of vehicles such as pickups.
• All persons entering Park will show driver's license.
• Each person admitted to the Park must get their own armband.
• You must have your armband to re-enter the Park during an event. No exceptions.
• Absolutely no spectators admitted.

Vehicle Safety Requirement Checklist

ALL VEHICLES MUST BE TAGGED, INSURED AND STREET LEGAL

Vehicles Requirements include the following:
• Factory hardtop, roll bar, or full roll cage, depending on trail ride.
• Functional brakes, including parking brakes or brake line lock.
• Tow Strap
• Spare Tire
• Jack & Lug wrench
• First aid kit
• Fire extinguisher, secured near driver.
• Seat belts for all passengers
• Attachment points (tow hooks) front & rear.
• Antennas not to exceed 4’6”
• Battery bolted down (no bungee cords)
• Legal exhaust system
• All interior items must be tied down.
Recommended items: CB Radio, tools and spare parts, flash light, leather gloves, and water.

Most of the guys in C.A.F.B. 4x4 are going to go. In the past we have stayed the night but I think we are going to just stay for the raffle and come on home. It was colder than Siberia last Fall for All. I think my bed just two hours away will be nice and warm!

If I go, I'll be a passenger. It seems pretty expensive for a weekend of wheeling. I'll see.
I want to save my resources and go to Tellico Thanksgiving break. I hear CMSJA is going then.

How long of a drive is Telleco?

It's at the eastern TN border. I think anywhere from 6-8 hours away right? Not sure because I've never been.

Fall for All is very crowded, youll have to wait in line to go on any trail, and if someone breaks (which someone always does) youll have to wait til they either get it fixed or moved off the trail.
Its a little cheaper, but you dont get anywhere near as much riding in.

CMSJA is going the weekend before on a private ride (but anyone is invited to join) so there is a lot less traffic and you can easily go on all the trails that you want. I think its $70/rig for the whole weekend. Hopefully Ill be making this one.

Tellico is app. 7.5 - 8.5 hours from starkville and 9 - 10 hours from jackson, depending on your speed. Its $5 a day to ride, then you have your camping fees on top of that, but overall pretty inexpensive except for the gas there and back. I definitely want to make this one.

$70 a rig for the weekend? Is it just me or does anyone else think that's high... I've never been there before and I know I'm cheap. I'm holding out for Tellico.

That is pretty expensive, however Chip makes a good point. I have gotten a bit fed up with the big rides. The last big one I went to I only rode maybe 3 trails in a day. Jason and I got up and rode Sunday morning just after day light. That hour was the most riding we did the whole weekend. Certanly it is fun seeing all of the rigs, but paying a little more is worth it if you want to do some serious riding. It will cost me over $350 for fuel, food and registration. Good thing I don't golf because I heard it was expensive.

i remember jason saying that its cheaper to join caos and pay the dues, then you get to ride for free, but thats only at the public rides i believe... but it may apply to the private rides that caos has too. and you might have to go to a clean up ride once or twice a year, or you can just pay the penalty fee, which i dont think is a lot... jason, am i right on all this?

From Brandon, I can just about go to Hot Springs for about the same money and not a whole lot farther to drive as the Gray Rock rides and do a lot more riding. And it is open year round. Plus if you are camping, they have shade and showers. I love to go to Gray rock to watch more than anything.

I was a CAOS member for three years. CAOS dues was around $40 per year and they require you to work two work days per year. If you do not work then it is a $20 dollar fine. I made it to two work days one year and paid the fine the next year. CAOS has a ride every month some where. They ride Gardendale a bunch but they also ride at Grey rock a good bit and it would be a free ride. Most of their work days are at Grey Rock and you generally work a half day and then ride the rest.

I am not a member of CAOS right now because I just haven't been on many rides lately and it is not worth it to me now. I will probably join next year because I anticipate that I will ride more next year.

If you are wanting the best bang for your buck, there is no better riding around here than at Hot Springs. They have the best trails that cater to everyone and their setup for camping and bathhouse is fantastic.
